This should be a quick post because we had an 11 AM flight. We walked the block from our hotel to the train station, only to learn there was a transit strike about to start in an an hour. If all went well, we should be at the airport by then. Meanwhile in Florence, Ashley was taking a train to Venice for the day. She made out well, too.
Italy has art everywhere. I enjoyed the public art exhibits in the airport. Just because an airport is functional, there is no reason it can't also include art.
We had a layover in Montreal. It was the first time on the trip I knew how to communicate without having to overthink it. Bonjour, Monsieur. Bonjour, Madame. Bonjour, Hi! It all works. We sailed through US Customs, allowing us time to enjoy a burger before our short flight home.
Breakfast in Milan.
Dinner in Montreal.
Sleeping in our own bed.
The end to an exhausting vacation.
