On Friday night we saw a sign for an Escher exhibit. As we are all fans of this graphic artist and his work, we spent Easter afternoon enjoying his artwork and learning about his life. It turns out this Dutch-born artist visited Italy with his parents when he was 21, and moved there with his Italian bride for 14 years before moving back to Holland. His time in Italy influenced his artwork. Some of my favorite parts of the exhibit:

Cool interactive exhibits, and low crowds so we could enjoy them. |

After this we bought sandwiches from All'Anticco, the most famous sandwich shop in Florence. So famous, our Milan tour guide asked us if we ate there. They have three locations on the same street (two of which were closed for renovations earlier in Ashley's stay in Florence) and they all have a line at all times. Ashley had the Vegetarian 2, I had the Vegetarian 3 (soft cheese, mushrooms, and zucchini), and Don had a ham and cheese. This being our third sandwich place, we voted on which one was our favorite. The one Ashley took us to first was the winner. We went there a second time before leaving Florence.
We ate on the steps of the Bibliothecha Nationale (the National Library) while waiting for our cooking class to meet. Ashley went back to her apartment.
