Friends of Howell Farm

In lieu of their 2020 annual meeting, Howell Living History Farm offered their friends (donors) a private tour.

Victoria, my tour guide, walked me to the four corners of Howell. Golf carts were available for people not as agile, but she said she was impressed by how many walked the course, even those far older than her.

It was a perfect fall day. It was a treat to talk to someone new. Yes, we wore masks the whole time, but we were able to forget about the pandemic for a little while and to remember plants continue to grow. Animals continue to need to be fed and cared for. The seasons continue to happen. Nature doesn't care about a pandemic. It keeps on happening.

Thank you to Howell for continuing to reinvent yourself. For feeding the hungry with your fields when you realized the 2020 program schedule would not happen as it has. Thank you for trying something new. For taking a risk, a risk that is paying off in feeding people as more need to be fed, and as food pantries are low in donation.

Thank you.
