I suspect this will be a short post.
Andrew, Jo, Don, and I rose early for a day on the water. Months earlier Andrew sent me a list of the places one should go in Australia. The list included the Great Barrier Reef and Uluru. The list contained places we were not planning to see. He pointed to the Tangalooma Wrecks off of Moreton Islands and suggested borrowing a boat from his club so we could see it up close.
As we made the plans through Facebook Messenger it seemed like a great idea. Looking at the grey clouds and feeling the misting rain, it didn't seem like such a good idea. After having to change plans from when the Bali leg was cancelled, I was still on mental overload. If the boat had shown up, I would have stuck it out even though the misting turned to the worst rain I had seen since, well, Uluru the week before. Fortunately Andrew was not on decision overload and he suggested hanging out at their house and going out the next day which was forecast to be absolutely perfect.
On the way home we stopped at a Bunnings for a snag. Read last year's post to understand that sentence.
Back at their home Andrew called the boat club to book a different boat for the next day. Turned out, he remembered wrong. Our reservations were for Sunday all along. Some might call it the best mistake ever!
We clearly all needed the down day as three out of four of us napped. I updated my notebook and read a book, which is my equivalent of downtime.
We also watched Bluey which we had learned through Celia's comedy show is based in Brisbane. Celia had been up for the role of Bluey's mother. Bluey's World, an interactive amusement based on the cartoon, opened the week earlier in Brisbane. No, we did not go.
We also watched Don's new favorite show, "Thank God You Are Here," starring Celia.
Another early night for us old fogeys.
