Newfoundland Adventures part 5: Parting shots of St. John's

The last thing I still wanted to see in St. John's was the moose statue in Bowring Park.

The last thing Don wanted to see was the inside of the knock-off LEGO store.

By visiting Bowring Park after we checked out of our room we both got our wishes, plus we enjoyed the nice day before the rains started. This time for real.

Bowring Park is designed by Frederick Todd, who was trained by Frederick Law Olmstead, the person who designed most of the famous city parks including New York City's Central Park, and Montreal's Mount Royal. The park's paved path winds past statues and gardens. It's most famous statue is of the moose. The second-most famous statue is of Peter Pan.

I was surprised to learn we have seen three of the four Terry Fox statues this year, but even more surprised to learn there is a copy of the Peter Pan statue on the campus of Rutgers-Camden. There are also copies in London, Liverpool, and Brussels, sites most others would be likelier to visit than New Jersey.

Sorry, no pictures of the Bricks and Minifigs store. I sat in the car during the rainstorm while Don shopped.
