Parliament: The Immersive Experience Tour in Ottawa

One of the highlights of our 2015 trip to Ottawa was a free light and sound show on the façade of the Parliament. I tried to research the details for this year's show so we could plan around it. I learned the show was not happening this year (which I later realized was because Parliament is under construction and the area is fenced off), but that they are offering a highly regarded indoor show located on Sparks Street called Parliament: The Immersive Experience. Tickets are free, but had to be booked in advance. I then saw they offer tours of the Senate and Parliament

When researching things to do in Ottawa I discovered the city offers free tours of Senate and the House of Commons. Having already planned a three-hour walking tour of the city, I decided to pass on the House of Commons for another day.

In hindsight, I wish we passed on the highly touted Immersive Tour as we did not get as much out of it. There are two rooms. The first reminded us of Disney's gathering space before the main event so you feel as if it is a worthwhile E ticket experience. Then we moved onto the main event where different images flashed on the walls trying to make you feel as if you are inside the Senate, the House of Commons, and the National Library, yet failing since the images moved too quickly for me to absorb. I saw one family leave about 10 minutes into the 20 minute showing.
