After a decade of attending worship at the other Presbyterian Church on Route 206 in Lawrenceville, Don and I finally decided to join the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. I don't know why now, other than the timing felt right. Many in the congregation expressed their surprise since they assumed we were already members. With Pastor Kyle
For the first few years we were attending the evening worship service at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville and the morning service at Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church. Don was still on the leadership team at LRPC. There was a point when I went to PCOL while Don continued to go to both.
When this latest round of New Member classes rolled around we realized we hadn't been worshipping at LRPC in couple of years. Not only that, but Don is on the Tech Team at PCOL live streaming worship a couple of times a month, and I go to their women's bible study group. There was no reason not to make it formal.
We joined with three other people -- one of whom also is an evening worship regular attendee. My parents worshiped with us to watch us make a promise to the congregation that we will be good members, supporting the church in every way.
It is a big move, and worthy of sharing through a blog post so a few years from now when I try to remember when did we do this, I can look back on this post and smile.
